In the Magistrates' Court, 1,347 charges of attempt to obtain property by deception were sentenced in the three years to 30 June 2023. The most common sentence for a charge of this offence was imprisonment (45.6% or 614 charges).

In 844 cases sentenced in the Magistrates' Court in the three years to 30 June 2023, each case included at least one charge of attempt to obtain property by deception. Among the 844 cases, 601 people were male and 243 people were female. The most common outcome for cases was imprisonment (29.6% or 250 cases).
