In the Magistrates' Court, 13,871 charges of handling stolen goods were sentenced in the three years to 30 June 2023. The most common sentence for a charge of this offence was imprisonment (54.1% or 7504 charges).

Case data

In 8,000 cases sentenced in the Magistrates' Court in the three years to 30 June 2023, each case included at least one charge of handling stolen goods. Among the 8,000 cases, 6,299 people were male and 1,701 people were female. The most common outcome for cases was imprisonment (35.5% or 2842 cases).
