In the Magistrates' Court, 170 charges of use a mobile phone while driving a moving motor vehicle (probationary driver) were sentenced in the three years to 30 June 2023. The most common sentence for a charge of this offence was a fine (72.4% or 123 charges).

Case data

In 162 cases sentenced in the Magistrates' Court in the three years to 30 June 2023, each case included at least one charge of use a mobile phone while driving a moving motor vehicle (probationary driver). Among the 162 cases, 112 people were male and 50 people were female. The most common outcome for cases was a fine (67.9% or 110 cases).
