Charge data

In the Magistrates' Court, 4,112 charges of wilfully injure or damage property (where cost of damage is less than $5,000) were sentenced in the three years to 30 June 2023. The most common sentence for a charge of this offence was an adjourned undertaking (30% or 1249 charges).

Case data

In 3,753 cases sentenced in the Magistrates' Court in the three years to 30 June 2023, each case included at least one charge of wilfully injure or damage property (where cost of damage is less than $5,000). Among the 3,753 cases, 3,089 people were male and 664 people were female. The most common outcome for cases was an adjourned undertaking (29% or 1121 cases).
